After a long day on the golf course or a hectic day seeing the sights of Oxfordshire, there is nowhere better to unwind and relax than the warm and friendly ambience of the Spike Bar. Opened by Sir Michael Parkinson, CBE in 2004, the elegant and relaxed atmosphere of our golfing-themed bar is the perfect place to spend time with friends, colleagues or family with a refreshing drink and some superbly prepared food. Serves a wide selection of beverages, breakfast snacks and a full lunch menu.

LAKES LOUNGE BAR

Open from 16:00 – 00:00 (Sunday - Friday), 16:00 - 01:00 (Saturday)*

A quiet place to relax in a haven of tasteful water colours, ambient décor and a peaceful atmosphere. Somewhere to settle down with a good book or enjoy pre-dinner drinks after a long day on the golf course or exploring the delights of Oxfordshire and the surrounding area. Whatever you are looking for, the Lakes Lounge at The Oxfordshire offers a place to relax and admire breathtaking views of The Oxfordshire Golf Course. Serves a wide selection of beverages, bar snacks and a full dinner menu.

SAKURA RESTAURANT

Open from 19:00 – 21:00*

Our Sakura restaurant is situated in a peaceful annex of The Oxfordshire and features an outstanding picture window which runs the full length of the room, giving you a view of the beautiful golf course and surrounding countryside. Serves an extensive wine list and a full dinner menu.

The Oxfordshire offers a selection of fruit, pastries and cereals along with the option of a full English breakfast. We endeavour to use local products where possible to ensure our breakfast is of the highest quality. *Opening & closing times are subject to change. Served in the Sakura Restaurant or Oaks Suite, please be advised on check-in.

Tempus Spa & Gym (Dial 460)

Children are permitted to use the swimming pool facilities until 10:00am daily. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Note: You are kindly required to vacate the facilities by the closing time.

TEMPUS SPA

Relaxation, pampering and the ultimate in high-end luxurious treatments. This is what you can come to expect from the Tempus Spa, with friendly experienced practitioners, a calming and ambient atmosphere combined with the very best products. The spa offers a wide range of treatments and a selection of spa days. Massages and treatments are all available for men and women alike and there are specially created treatments for expectant mothers too. We strongly advise to book treatments in advance to avoid any disappointment, however, please dial 460 to check last minute availability during your stay.

POOLSIDE FACILITIES

Within the Tempus Spa situates our 15-metre indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and spa pool/ jacuzzi. All residing guests at The Oxfordshire receive complimentary use of the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, spa pool and fitness studios. Robes and slippers are available from the Tempus Spa reception at a charge. The locker and changing rooms facilities are complimentary.

STUDIO AND GYM

The Oxfordshire has one studio with regular classes running throughout the week from Body Pump to Yoga. Please contact Tempus Spa Reception on 460 to check availability or book. The Gym includes a range of equipment from cross trainers to power plates. If you are unsure of how to use the equipment, please ask one of the instructors.

SPA & GYM ETIQUETTE

  • Suitable swimwear must be worn at all times.

  • Please ensure that you shower before entering the sauna, steam room or spa pool, especially after having a spa treatment.

  • When entering the pool area you must not wear any outdoor shoes.

  • Please note that due to health and safety regulations persons under the age of 16 are not allowed to use the sauna, steam room, spa pool or fitness studios.

  • We would recommend that guests dress for comfort in a t-shirt or vest with stretch trousers or shorts.

  • Trainers must be worn for classes and use of the gymnasium.

  • While using the gym please ensure you clean the machines after use with towels provided.

  • On the day of their departure, hotel guests can use the facilities until 12:00.

Being a former European Tour venue having hosted the Benson & Hedges International for four years, the Andersen Consulting World Championships as well as the Ladies English Open, you know you’re somewhere special. Strategically contoured holes that blend naturally into the surrounding countryside provide a challenging game of golf, topped off by 4 lakes and 135 bunkers this course makes full use of the terrain and natural elements to provide characteristics similar to those of a links course.

DRIVING RANGE

For practicing your golf, The Oxfordshire provides the perfect setting to do so in quiet and spectacular surroundings. Our world-class driving range extends to over 250 yards. To the far side, there is a chipping green with a greenside bunker, offering the ideal space for those wishing to improve their short game. Driving range balls can be bought directly at the driving range. For any further information please contact the Pro Shop.

GOLF DRESS CODE

The Oxfordshire Dress Code applies to all Golfers on the course. Please note we do require visitors to be competent golfers and possess a current handicap certificate. Junior guests & visitors (under 18). PGA professionals will be given courtesy of the course provided they bring paying guests and notify the Pro Shop at the time of booking. (All of these bookings must be made through the Pro Shop). We strongly advise guests to reserve tee times prior to their arrival date; however to check last minute availability please contact the Pro Shop on 407 or 456. Tee times cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged at the full rate.

To enable guests to carry out any business requirements we can provide photocopying, printing and postal service. Please dial 0 for information and charges.

CAR PARKING

There is a large car park with additional overflow car park situated to the right of the main building. We would strongly advise that guests do not leave any valuable items in vehicles.

DEPARTURE

We ask that all guests on day of departure vacate their room by 11.00am. Reception has limited availability to store luggage if you would like to continue using The Oxfordshire’s facilities.

HOUSEKEEPING

Please contact Reception by dialling 0 should you require an extra pillow, towel, bathmat or toiletries.

INTERNET ACCESS

Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available in the public areas and bedrooms, please connect to ‘The Oxfordshire ’ no password is required.

NEWSPAPERS

You can request a newspaper to your room for the next morning at reception. Please note that there will be a charge added to your bill.

SMOKING / VAPING

The hotel is non-smoking including the bedrooms. There are designated smoking areas located outside public areas. Any guests found smoking within their room or balcony will be charged up to £100.

Your room has a wall mounted plasma television with all freeview channels included.

The Woodstock History Centre interprets the history of Woodstock, Vermont and the surrounding area. It houses a large collection of antique furniture, fine art, clothing, textiles, silver, ceramics, photographs and early American toys.

A small town with a number of shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants.

OXFORD (CITY) (Around 12 miles)

A diverse city with many attractions including the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford Castle and Botanical Gardens. Also has a large shopping centre and a variety of pubs, restaurants and night clubs.

BICESTER (TOWN) (Around 19 miles)

A small town mostly known for its shopping outlet Bicester Village.

The hotel does not offer foreign exchange service or have a cash machine. The closest cash point is located in Thame, around a 5-minute drive.

The local library is in North Street, Thame and can be contacted on 01844 212 288.

FIRE & SAFETY

SAFETY INFORMATION

  • To minimise risk following a shower or a bath when the floor is wet, please use the mats provided for your personal safety.

  • Take care when using the shower cubicle and remember that the door should be PUSHED when getting out of the shower (If pulled toward you it could break and become a safety hazard after showering).

  • For safety and security reasons we do not allow members of staff to work in hotel bedrooms if a guest is present as part of our ‘Lone Working’ policy.

  • In the rare event of spotting someone who looks suspicious near hotel bedrooms please notify Reception so we can check matters.

  • Inevitably breakages happen. If so, please let Reception know, particularly if glass is involved to prevent accidents when rooms are cleaned, and waste bins are cleared.

FIRE SAFETY

Please take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the nearest exits to and from your room. A plan of the hotel layout and where your bedroom is situated is located on the back of your bedroom door. Guests who have a hearing impairment which restricts the ability to hear a fire alarm should kindly inform Reception once they have checked in.

EVACUATION PROCEDURE

If you discover a fire activate the nearest break glass point, and then walk down to ground level using the nearest fire exit.
